Mars is inspiration for scientist and normal human who want to explore mars. Technologies NASA developing for mars exploration has already begun. Soon rover launching to mars will teach us about what is like on surface. It helps future human missions to mars. Soon these technologies we will see in mars exploration are as follow.
1. Powerful Propulsion Systems to Get us There
Astronauts for mars will travel about 140 million miles into deep space NASA have multiple options, including nuclear electric and nuclear thermal propulsion. Both use nuclear fission and very different from each other.
A nuclear electric rocket is more efficient but it doesn’t generate lot of thrust and nuclear thermal propulsion provides much more energetic or oomph which system is selected fundamentals of nuclear propulsion reduce crew time away from earth. Nasa is testing, sending technologies to reduce risk for first human mars mission.
2. Inflatable Heat Shield to Land Astronauts on Other Planets
The largest rover landed on mars is about size of car and sending to mars will required bigger spacecraft to enter Martian atmosphere to the surface.
Nasa is working on inflatable heat shield that allow large surface area to take on less space in rocket. Technologies could land on any planet with an atmosphere.
3. High-Tech Martian Spacesuits
Spacesuits are essentially custom spacecraft for astronauts. Nasa next generation suits is called exploration extravehicular mobility unit or xEMU. The spacesuits prioritize crew safety while also allowing Artemis Generation to make natural.
4. Martian Home and Labon Wheels
To reduce number of items needs to land on surface, Nasa will combine first martin home and vehicle into single rover complete with breathable air. They can drive comfortable clothing tens of miles from spacecraft that will launch them back to space for return to earth.
5. Uninterrupted Power
Astronauts need a reliable power supply to explore mars. This system will need to be lightweight and capable of running regardless its location on mars.
Mars has day and night cycle like earth. Making nuclear fission power a more reliable option than solar power. NASA already test this technology on earth and demonstrated safe, efficient. NASA plans to demonstrated and use fission power system on moon then mars.
6. Laser communication to send more information on earth
Human mission to mars use lasers to stay touch with earth. A laser communication system at mars could send large amount of real time information and data, including images and video feeds. The technology would allow us to communication with astronauts to see and hear more on mars.
